A casual chat over coffee is perfect. Aim for 2–5 people: project managers, site managers, quantity surveyors, subcontractors or restaurant managers. Send one response per person and choose “Someone I chatted with” in step 1.
Opening line
“Bizevora Technologies, a software company in India, is researching how teams in my industry work day to day. No selling. Mind if I ask a few questions? I’ll leave your name and company out of my notes, and you can ask for your answers to be deleted at any time.”
Six questions
- What’s your role, and how big is the team or site?
- What ate most of your time last week?
- Tell me about the last time something went wrong or got delayed. What happened?
- How do you handle that today (tools, sheets, WhatsApp, paper)?
- Have you tried anything to fix it? Why did it work or not?
- Roughly how often does it happen, and what does it cost you?
Do
- Ask “can you give me an example?” and “what happened next?”
- Let silences sit. The useful detail usually comes after a pause.
- Write down their exact words for the biggest complaint.
Don’t
- Pitch or describe any app idea. It turns answers into polite compliments.
- Ask “would you use an app that…?” People say yes and never do.
- Fill in answers for them or argue with them.
Ask before recording any voice note, and keep names and companies out of the notes.
